Dear Montana FWP,

There is no scientific or ethical reason to kill wolves. This is not wildlife management—it’s trophy killing. Wolves play a vital ecological role by controlling overpopulated prey and removing diseased animals from the ecosystem. State-sanctioned hunts increase conflict with livestock, not decrease it. Disrupting pack structure leads to more depredation. “Blood does not buy good will.”

Additionally, trapping and snaring are inhumane, outdated, and kill countless non-target species—including grizzly bears, lynx, and pets. Animals suffer in trapping devices for days on end before dying.

  • Wolf tourism brings $82 million to the Greater Yellowstone region annually. Killing wolves threatens both ecosystems and local economies.

  • Wolves help control Chronic Wasting Disease, a 100% fatal illness plaguing elk, deer, and moose. They seek out sick animals—humans do not.

This plan is not rooted in science, but in politics. We demand wildlife policy based on ecological data—not fear, bloodlust, or special interests.

Wolves deserve better, Montana deserves better, and our future generations deserve better! Montana’s proposal glorifies cruelty, undermines science, and jeopardizes one of nature’s most vital apex predators. We must stop this reckless plan before it’s too late. We need wolves for a healthy planet.

Sincerely,
