PINE RIDGE RESERVATION NATURE & LEADERSHIP PROJECT
Women for Wolves and the BEAR Project are collaborating on a year-round Nature & Leadership Program for Oglala Lakota youth and families on the Pine Ridge Reservation. Through monthly outdoor experiences, wildlife education, cultural learning, art, storytelling, and community activities, the program supports connection to the land, culture, wildlife, and one another. Participants explore topics including animal tracking, native plants, wolves, water, outdoor skills, creative expression, and environmental stewardship. The program is designed as a shared effort rooted in collaboration, Indigenous knowledge, youth leadership, and mutual learning. Over the course of the year, young people will also have opportunities to create and present projects inspired by what they have experienced. Learn more about our indigenous partnerships.
